Canada invites 635 Express Entry candidates

Canada invited 635 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada’s latest Express Entry draw, held on September 1.

The PNP is an immigration program that allows Canadian provinces to select and nominate candidates for permanent residence. Candidates needed to score at least 764 according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) in order to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA). 

Candidates who get nominated to immigrate to a province receive an additional 600 CRS points. This means that invited candidates needed only 164 core points to receive an ITA. Most Express Entry draws are now program-specific since Canada introduced temporary measures to slow the spread of the virus. This includes border closure to non-essential travel.
